The
Government of India has taken a decision to observe September 17 as the Sewa
Diwas (Service Day) embarking on cleanliness with the slogan “Swachhta he Sewa”
(स्वच्छता ही सेवा). I believe this needs to be made a mass movement and any
such mission which becomes ‘babu driven’ does not yield much result. I spend a
few hours out in the city to come to this conclusion. I do not elaborate for
reasons obvious. Nevertheless I searched out a hero for the day whose photo I
post on this blog.
