LESSONS IN POLITICAL CHICANERY(26/02/2014)

Political comments from our netas are generally peculiar but the one given below crosses all boundaries of sanity:
1.      Congress: Rahul Gandhi assures in Diphu(Assam) that Congress will not give tickets to wards of political leaders in the forthcoming elections.
Was Rahul Gandhi referring to self?
2.      BJP: The party targets 272 in the forthcoming elections.
The party seems to have lost half the battle even without putting up actual fight. In an examination if a student aims for 50% he lands up with 25%.
3.      BJP: Rajnath Singh states that even the Court has given Modi a clean chit over Gujarat riot. However, the party seeks apology for any mistake committed by the party in the past.
If Court has given Modi a clean chit, which sin is the Party President apologizing for?
4.      RJD:  Laloo says come what may the JD (U) government has past its prime, (gayeel jawaani phir naa lautihein, chahe jitna ghee malidaa khaihein) and it not coming back into power.
Isn’t the statement a reflection on Laloo’s political career as well?
5.      NCP: Ministry of Agriculture puts up half a page advertisement of its achievement with photos of its Minister Sri. Sharad Pawar and Sri. Tariq Anwar- both prominent NCP leaders. However, photo of UPA Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi is missing in this advertisement though it does carry the photo of PM Manmohan Singh.
Is it indicative of the growing coziness between NCP and BJP or souring of relations between NCP and Congress? Or is it that Sonia has no role in Pawar’s success?
6.      LJP: Paswan may align with BJP.
A decade in political wilderness has certainly made Paswan wiser to understand the definition of Communal-ism and Secularism. Lessons in political chicanery learnt but learnt late.
